| To not take advantage of coupons and store "club" cards . . . | | I know two people who have backwards thinking about coupons and those club cards that are supposed to save you money. One person is opposed to coupons. I once clipped out a bunch of diaper coupons for his newborn, but he refused to take them. He thinks that using coupons make you look "cheap" - that using them makes you look like you don't have money. That's just crazy. I told him that manufacturers want you to use these coupons so you will buy their products!!!! The other person has some logic to his non usage of coupons and club cards. First, he says coupons are a ploy to get you to buy something you don't need. He says he likes his jam brand - so he's going to buy his jam brand and not get swayed by manufacturers coupons to buy another jam that he might get disappointed with. He refuses to get a store club card because he says he doesn't need anyone to know his shopping habits . . . he says they take your personal info when you get the card and each time you use it, they take note of what you're buying for marketing purposes or whatever. He'd rather not give his info than to save money. So do you think they're nuts or do they have a valid point? Heck, these days in... | |

| Are baseball cards going to come back in value? | | A loss of interest in collecting baseball cards began in he '90s when the market was saturated with confusing excessive card types. As the early baby boomers start to die off in coming years, there will be fewer buyers for classic cards of the '50s and '60s. However, these cards will soon become antiques. Those in good condition are also rare. All that's needed is an increase in demand. Will this be created by a renewed interest in collectibles of all types? That last happened in the late '70s when monetary inflation exploded from expansionary credit policy of the Federal Reserve. Actions of the Fed have been recently similar. If cash begins to quickly lose value, holding collectibles will become popular again. Should this happen, will baseball cards participate in the economic process? Should you hold on to your cards? Should you buy cards now while they are cheap? | |

| | Virtual Credit Cards? | | I had a problem when I tried to buy online through walmart because I saw they take paypal. Except I needed a credit card to follow through and ended up spending a little more for a product through e-bay.Then someone mentioned that I may be able to use a virtual credit card. They said it is better to search for it than to explain it so I did. I found this link. http://www.equitipz.com/2009/05/what-is-virtual-credit-card.htmlMy question is, how safe is this and can I use it for paypal when they want a credit card number? When I try for the credit/debit card on paypal, the only options I get is visa, mastercard, discover and american express..So if I got a virtual credit card, will it be one of these cards? | |

| | Like maxing your credit cards before filing for bankruptcy | | http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/97089-democrats-poised-to-move-measures-with-high-price-tags
Congress faces a crush of votes on big-ticket items before the Memorial Day recess, setting up a debate on deficits less than six months before the November elections.Democratic leaders are looking in the next three weeks to send President Barack Obama a slew of measures that cost more than $200 billion, including a multiyear extension of unemployment benefits, an extension of expiring tax provisions and Medicare doctor payments totaling $180 billion and a $33 billion Afghanistan war supplemental bill.Because most of those costs won’t be paid for, Republicans plan to use those bills and the Democrats’ budget blueprint to highlight massive deficits ahead of the congressional midterm election. Republicans have recently been pointing to Greece’s dismal fiscal situation as a warning, claiming that the U.S. will be headed for a similar fate unless the deficits are curtailed.“Washington Democrats’ out-of-control spending spree is scaring the hell out of the American people,” said Michael Steel, a spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio). “It has to stop.”The... | |

| | Yellow Cards For Umpires and Referees! | | We see a lot of dissatisfaction from players towards referees and umpires in rugby and cricket nowadays. And with good reason in many cases. I suggest a system where players are allowed to hand a ref or umpire a yellow card during the match, without having to argue about it. After the match and independent panel must review and hand judgement! Negative judgements must go against the individual's record. I believe it will go a long way in getting rid of aggressive behaviour from players. | |
